The toxicity and normalization of incest/cp in the fandom has gotten to the point where I absolutely cannot stay quiet any longer. Having been in this fandom for almost two years, I did my best for the majority of it to stay as neutral with everything as possible. Quite frankly, fandom drama isn’t even on my list of priorities, but as an active member of the punk community and as a fellow human being, I feel as though it has gotten to the point where I can’t stay quiet any longer. Injustice is something that I can’t sweep under the rug.

So I ask that everyone read this no matter if you’re part of the Safe House or Lewd House side of the fandom — that’s what you guys call yourselves, right?

My name is Aszii. I’m going to be 22 in November and I am a musician and cosplayer. I never really grew out of my cartoon phase and I adore them, probably more so than anything else on television. They make me happy, they’re an escape from a life which is, quite frankly, not the best. But we all have problems and we all deal with them in different ways, so I digress.

Why am I bringing this up now?

Because I was a victim of childhood sexualization and was sexually abused by my own family members for years.

This stuff isn’t a joke and it makes me sick that you people play it off as one. You can preach all day long about how it’s ‘not real’ and you have a right to artistic expression, but at the end of the day, I still think it’s criminal. You get nowhere in life with that kind of behaviour except behind bars.

I’m not going to hold punches anymore, and you know why? Because if I can save one child from suffering the same fate as me — an adult who still suffers from PTSD and actually developed several mental illnesses because of my abuse — it’ll be worth the screams of a few depraved people who have nothing better to do with their lives.

I’ll be blunt here:

I think you’re the worst kind of people.

Though you might not actively hurt children and participate in sexual acts with your family, your art could drive someone to do so. The biggest flaw in media is its influence and how desensitized we’ve become to things like this. You could be the cause of someone touching a child or their family member because: ‘someone else is doing it, so it must be okay’.

I know its fiction, but you’re playing on a very real thing that fucks kids up for life and I won’t stay quiet about it anymore.

Get some professional help. I did — I HAD to and what happened to me wasn’t even my fault. Don’t drag children into your meaningless ships and fandom drama.

Like, I get it, we all have had those problematic™ ships, but some of you guys are in your thirties and still try to justify this shit as being okay and completely unharmful to real children and families. The thought of what that could do to a child long term makes me truly weep. If it were up to me, y'all would be locked up somewhere. 👌✨

And dismissing it as fiction is such a weak argumentative point to jump off on, because yes, it is fiction, but fiction can sometimes inspire real-life acts. I have legitimate firsthand experience with this. Adults can see this content and it will inspire real sexual acts towards children.

So if reading this inspires you to unfollow me or anything of that nature I /implore/ you to do so. Frankly, I have no desire to interact with pedophiles and incest-fetishizers. I’ll sleep better at night knowing my life has been purged of your presence. ❤️✨ Much obliged.
